Next week we will begin a series of Fridays dedicated to the life and work of British Scifi-guru H.G.Wells (1866-1946). Wells was a visionary who, among other things, predicted the atom bomb, time travel and genetic engineering. “History”, he claimed, was “a race between education and catastrophe.”
We will be featuring radio plays of some of his most famous stories including The Time Machine, The War of The Worlds, The Invisible Man, The Island of Dr Moreau, The History of Mister Polly and many more. In addition, there will be audio by H.G. Wells himself, as well as lectures and discussions courtesy of the Oxford Academic Press and The Science Fiction Book Review. We would like to thank The Atlanta Radio Theater Company in particular for use of some of their material.
See you Friday
